Meet the coaches
Katri is an early childhood educator from Finland and currently living in Australia for the past 12 years. She is passionate about teaching STEAM education, using playful and fun learning methods. She is excited about bringing aspects from Finnish education system to different parts of the world, and providing children with long lasting memories and experiences.
Salla is a food education and household economics specialist from Finland completing the last year of her Masters degree in Human Nutrition focusing on food behavior and children’s nutrition. She believes that every child should have the opportunity to learn how to make not only delicious but nutritious food that nourishes both their physical and mental health.
Heidi is an experienced physical and health teacher from Finland and currently living in Australia for the past 2 years. Heidi has a Masters degree in education. She loves to share the joy of all kinds of movement for all age groups, sports and yoga belongs to everyone. Her key values within the lessons are: a safe and comfortable learning atmosphere, professional and quality exercises, offering different levels of options, building confidence and self compassion and of course having fun.
Linda is an elementary school teacher from Finland but for the past ten years she has been living in the United Arab Emirates. She has a Master's degree in Education and a Master's degree in English philology from the University of Oulu in Finland. She has worked in several schools both in Finland and in the UAE.
Despite spending the majority of her working life abroad, Linda is passionate about spreading the message of the excellent Finnish education system and she is happy to be involved in bringing the joy of learning -in the Finnish way- for kids around the world.
Linda enjoys teaching science and is passionate about environmental education. Promoting green values and ecological thinking are important principles no matter where in the world we are!

Katia is passionate about future skills. She believes that to prepare generation Alpha (born 2010-2022) for the future, having a heart and social-emotional skills is what matters. Born to Finnish-Iraqi parents, Katia is bi-lingual and bi-cultural and has had a truly international career in the fields of complex technical ecosystems, platforms and education technology.
The idea of upiopi started to form in Katia’s mind as she worked to find ways which would make Finnish stress-free and wellbeing focused learning styles accessible for children worldwide. She believes that motivation and joy of learning are the keys for learner engagement. In her free-time Katia is an enthusiastic foodie and would love to learn French in order to understand the food culture even better!
Gunilla believes in hands-on learning experiences. Children are individuals with different learning styles, and this should be understood when designing learning solutions. Gunilla hasa long career in IT, and she has managed big, global projectsand has vast experience working in multicultural environments.
As co-founder of upiopi, Gunilla hopes she can be at the forefront of offering the best online learning content taught by the top coaches for as many children as possible. As a kid she dreamed of a career in acting and music, and now she would love to learn how to do animations and music.
Tiina is a financial and business expert with several years of experience in business management, strategical planning, cost and cashflow management in startups and corporations. Tiina wants to support and enable children to grow as curious minded and active learners.
Tra is a storyteller who is passionate in education. With several years working for educational nonprofits, Tra helps crafting upiopi's voice and bringing it closer to parents. She loves to see upiopers having a blast learning and growing.
Leena is an entrepreneurial, digital product and design leader, with a global track record building high-performing teams and strategic partnerships for experience-led growth. As an adviser for upiopi, Leena helps in the creation of intuitive, delightful experiences for children and parents.
Mervi has over 25 years of experience in pedagogy driven education technology from corporate, start-up and public sector perspective and emphasizes the importance of future working skills in everything she does. As the pedagogical advisor, Mervi ensures that upiopi supports the future working skills and smoothens the path for children to acquire them.
Pedro has been creating brands for more than 2 decades. Passionate, idealist, and father of two, believes children are an endless source of inspiration, and that ingenuity can change the world for the best.
Karoliina is an experienced and innovative elementary school teacher, who has taught children of different ages both in Finland and abroad. She has a Master's degree in Education and is a keen life-long-learner. In addition to being a class teacher she works as a teacher trainer and supports her colleagues especially in digital teaching. She is enthusiastic about STEAM education and loves to use a wide range of technology during the lessons. Her goal is to inspire children to find their love for learning!
